Task & responsibilities

• Assist with preparing materials and equipment for educational and recreational activities.
• Supervise and support children throughout their daily routines, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Guide children’s social development and manage behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences that promote creativity and development.
• Engage children through reading, storytelling, games, and interactive activities. 
• Maintain high hygiene standards and support children with hygiene routines as needed.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment.

Qualification & experience

• The equivalent of a minimum of a Diploma-level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, recognised in Australia.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in an early childhood education and care setting.
• Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and evaluating learning programs for children aged 0 to 5 years.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).
• Experience supervising or leading educators within a room or age group.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, families, and team members.
• A genuine passion for fostering children’s growth, learning, and social development.
• Sound knowledge of health, hygiene, and safety standards for children.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking initiative when needed.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and work within a rotating roster as required.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and First Aid Certificate, and Child Safety or willingness to obtain.
