THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Randwick Racecourse Manager, this permanent full-time position will be responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks and grounds at our Racecourse in Randwick ensuring they are presented in the best possible condition.

DAY TO DAY, THE ROLE WILL:

  • Undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens and maintenance instructions
  • Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations
  • Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces
  • Working hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

THE RIGHT FIT

To be successful in the role, the right fit will have the following experience and capability:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management;
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills;
  • Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as a manual vehicle, front end loader and forklifts (as applicable);
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator would be desirable;
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals;
  • A demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills
