RELOCATE TO MELBOURNE - RELOCATION INCENTIVE ON OFFER!

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Head Baker to oversee our Melbourne bakery production team.

Day-to-day you will lead our team to produce our signature range of sourdough bread. We pride ourselves on baking some of the country's best - and we're looking for someone equally passionate to join our leadership team.

You will provide hands-on support and supervision in a range of areas, including managing quality and production, mixing, shaping scoring and baking. Additionally, you will assist in managing equipment and maintenance in the bakery, troubleshooting, logistics, production scheduling, rostering and recruitment.

In addition to our passion for bread, we also embrace modern technology to help us as we grow - You'll be working with some of the best equipment on the market and learn how to successfully scale production in our growing business - A crucial skill for a baker looking for ongoing career growth.

About us

Baker Bleu started as a small bakery in 2016, creating ethical and delicious sourdough bread for Melbourne to enjoy. 

In the last 8 years, Baker Bleu has seen significant growth - with 4 locations across Melbourne & Sydney (and more on the way) Baker Bleu is proud to bring back the joys of real bread using the ancient tech­niques of long fer­men­ta­tion sour­dough.

Along with our range of sourdough bread, we also offer a large range of sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches, sourdough pizza, as well as excellent coffee in partnership with Market lane.

About you

We are looking for a strong leader with high level industry experience. You must have an excellent knowledge of sourdough breadmaking and equipment.

To be considered for this role, you will need to bring:

  • Excellent knowledge of bakery operations and breadmaking

  • Strong communication skills - you will be dealing with people at all levels

  • A quality-focussed mindset, with a passion for innovation

  • Proven experience in the recruitment and selection process

  • Excellent numeracy and written skills 

  • Stong computer skills including excel, Microsoft suite and rostering software

  • A positive, forward-thinking mindset

  • An awareness of OHS obligations and standards

  • A desire to grow and evolve with our business

 The successful person will need to be available to work across a spread of hours, with some early mornings, late evenings and weekends (irregular / as required)
