Mechanical Service Technician – Aviation Lead

ACE Materials Handling Pty Ltd is an Australian owned engineering and materials handling company which has been operating since 1991 with branches in Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns, and Darwin. We provide services to clients in all industries through inspection, service, maintenance & repair of their materials handling equipment and other assets. 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and customer oriented Mechanical Service Technician to join our Brisbane team, in a full-time capacity, primarily supporting our Aviation sector out at Brisbane Airport. On-the-job training is provided to help the right candidate hit the ground running, with tailored training provided if this role sees you embarking in a new environment with your Mechanical trade skills and experience. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing site information such as data plates, measurements and completing works and leading servicing, supervising works and onsite techs. Additionally, the delivery of inspection, maintenance, service, repair services and breakdown assistance to our customers. This role will see the technician completing inspections, maintenance & repairs on overhead cranes, vehicle hoists, docking systems, hangar doors, mobile machinery and a broad range of other materials handling equipment.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications and attributes are essential;

• Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter and Turner or Mechanical fitter).  
• White Card (or ability to obtain)
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space
• EWP <11m / >11m
• Current Driver’s License
• Ability to obtain an ASIC and undertake a police check
• Fault-finding or breakdown experience
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
• Excellent personal organisation and time management skills

It would be highly desirable if the successful candidate already obtained the following however, is not a requirement for the role and if needed in future for the position, the below will be organised and funded for the successful candidate;

• Hazardous Area qualification 
• First Aid
• 2 + Years’ experience in a similar supervisory role
• MEM15004B Perform Inspection (Height Safety equipment inspection)
• Restricted Electrical Licence
