Total Tank Services is seeking a Dynamic Workshop Supervisor to lead our Fabrication and Welding Team. 

Only those with current Australian Working rights will be considered for this role, sponsorship will not be considered.

Rate to be discussed individually based on experience and suitability.

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you would be an integral part, leading our Fabrication and Welding team. Our scopes of work range from fabrication of new fuel and storage tanks, repairs to mobile fuel storage tankers/tippers and complete refurbishment of Static Tanks during routine inspections in the field.

We seek a Trade Qualified Workshop Supervisor with the ability to plan and execute a wide range of Workshop Fabrication and Welding scopes.

Position Overview:

  •      This role involves guiding workshop personnel, daily planning, managing HSSEQ and delivery to a high                  standard of workmanship on all tasks.
  •      We seek a driven individual who has an ability to lead by example and set the standard that we want to follow.
  •      A proactive outlook supporting and driving a customer focussed approach, flexibility around meeting                    operational change and requirements is crucial.

  •       Oversee a variety of Skilled Tradespeople (Fabricators/Welders) Tank Technicians, Blast and Paint crew and           Trades Assistants
  •        Plan execution of Tank Clean and Degas scopes in conjunction with Workshop Co-Ordinator   

Qualifications Required:

  •       A Trade background in Boilermaker/Welding and or Vehicle Body Building would be the minimum                         standards considered, with experience in Workshop leadership
  •       Ability to understand construction drawings coupled with an ability to think on your feet to a best practice              standard and execute.
  •       Sound understanding of quality control, with an eye for detail.
  •       Experience in leading a team to fulfil project deliverables.

General Duties

  •      Oversee job productivity and manage the preparation of production drawings
  •      Scheduling and coordinate product logistics, ensuring resources are efficiently used
  •      Identify and report any material or equipment discrepancies
  •      Provide written assessment on incoming scopes of works and give estimates internally for client quotations

Deliverables 

  •     Work closely with Workshop Co-Ordinator to ensure seamless execution of all works
  •     Plan, coordinate and oversee all phases of fabrication projects, ensuring they are completed on time and               within quoted hours 
  •     Compile job card to include ITP/Methodology/hours 
  •     Compile job notification including “in process” inspections for QA Inspection and sign off  

Human Resources & Productivity

  •     Supervise and mentor a team of fabricators and welders, ensuring high performance and productivity
  •     Review and sign off fortnightly timesheets of workshop-based personnel
  •     Participate in workshop personnel performance reviewed and disciplinary processes

Quality Control

  •     Maintain quality control processes to ensure all products meet industry standards and client specifications
  •     Participate in project-related pre-work documentation and safety inspections, including QA/QC
  •     Ensure all work completed meets Company QA/QC expectations and is in line with relevant industry                     standards 

HSSEQ Compliance

  •     Complete annual Performance reviews, implement Management Plans in consultation with Operations and           HR  
  •     Demonstrate strong safety leadership, promote HSSEQ and QA programs to achieve an injury and incident           free culture including JHA preparation and management in Workshop.

Collaboration and Communication

  •     Develop client relations by communicating with clients to understand their needs, provide updates and                 ensure customer satisfaction
  •     Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring

Training & Development

  •     Attend and participate in all required external training for regulatory licensing as required
  •     Attend and participate in all required internal training
  •     Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and internal staff as required 

Physical Requirements

  •     Comply with Company’s Fit for Work Policy
  •     Ability to pass pre-employment medical
  •     Ability to work in various positions, lift heavy materials and perform tasks that require physical strength and           endurance

General 

  •     Complete all required job documentation to a high standard
  •     Complete personal timesheets daily with attention to accuracy and detail for job costing
  •     Present in a neat and tidy manner
