Senior Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team at Millard Service Centre Yatala. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services to our valued customers in Yatala, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical systems
• Administration including; ordering parts, quoting and billing 
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune-ups, and tyre rotations
• Accurately document all work performed and maintain detailed records
• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
• Mentor and train junior mechanics to develop their skills and knowledge
• Ensure the workshop operates efficiently and safely, adhering to all relevant regulations and industry standards

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a qualified automotive mechanic, with a strong background in diagnostics and repair
• Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant trade qualification in automotive mechanics
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly identify and resolve complex vehicle issues
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to explain technical information clearly
• Thorough understanding of automotive systems, tools, and equipment
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment and computerised repair information systems
