Diesel Fitter Mechanic

About the role

Winch Hire Australia is seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter / Mechanic to join our team in Sumner, QLD. This is a full-time or permanent part-time position responsible for the servicing and maintenance of our fleet of heavy machinery and equipment. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our machinery is well-maintained and operating at peak performance.

What you'll be doing

1. Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and other mechanical components

2. Conducting scheduled servicing and maintenance on our fleet of industrial equipment

3. Ordering and managing parts and supplies to maintain inventory

4. Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner

5. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

6. Providing technical expertise and advice to the operations team

What we're looking for

1. Relevant trade qualifications in diesel mechanics or a similar field

2. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a diesel fitter or mechanic, ideally in the construction, mining or equipment hire industries

3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

4. Excellent attention to detail and quality of work

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

6. Valid driver's and forklift licence, and your own tools
