Market St Patisserie – in Adelaide’s iconic Central Market precinct - services the wholesale, retail and food service sectors with its quality products – as our business continues to grow, so does the need for skilled, motivated & energetic staff.


The Bakery Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily production and distribution of our products.  This is a hands-on role, so requires previous pastry & sourdough production experience. The role entails planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily operations to ensure the timely delivery of quality products, within budget, while maintaining and improving efficiencies.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and overseeing daily & weekly production schedules to meet customer demand.

  • Producing a high volume of superior quality croissant, pastry & sourdough products  in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Developing new product lines that align with market trends and customer needs.

  •  Identify and actively promote continuous improvement to product, processes and systems.

  • To work in close conjunction with the General Manager to ensure timing, standards & profitability targets are met.

  • Maintaining and improving Food Safety and WHS systems

  • Ensuring all products meet strict food regulations, quality and safety guidelines

  • Overseeing staff rosters, ensuring optimal staffing levels.

  • Providing leadership fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment

  • Training of staff as required


Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must have qualifications or experience as a Baker and/or Chef with prior experience as a supervisor/manager in food manufacturing.  This day-to-day operational role will see you utilising your skills and an ability to train and share knowledge with staff.  You will possess a keen eye for process improvement and the ability to develop new product lines.

  • Experience managing a team and production schedules

  • Proficient computer skills

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven Pastry & Sourdough production experience

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Possess a strong work ethic

  • Excellent food knowledge

  • A desire to perform at the highest level

  • The ability to work very early mornings

This is a full-time permanent position which will require flexibility and weekend work.
