Gardener

We are seeking an enthusiastic Gardener to work in a permanent full time capacity, Monday to Friday.

Working under the guidance of our Grounds Supervisor and along side our experienced gardening team, you will be responsible for managing the upkeep of the general grounds of our Mandurah community by;

• hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, mowing and planting;

• assist our Village residents with gardening concerns or requests;

• timely reporting on areas of concern

Candidates must be responsible for working in a safe manner, including ensuring those around their working environment remain safe, and to work cooperatively with other team members and our Village residents in undertaking their duties.

Up to 2 years’ experience in a similar role is required combined with;

• Certificate II or III or Diploma in Horticulture (highly regarded)

• Current Western Australian motor vehicle drivers’ licence (C Class)

• Manual Handling training (preferred but not essential)

• A passion for plants and working outdoors

• Demonstrated gardening and general maintenance skills

• Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour

• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage own time

• Thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements

All candidates must provide a police clearance obtained within the last 90 days and be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical.

This role requires a person with a “can do” attitude, who is fit and healthy and is willing to work with our retired residents.
