We require bakers/pastry cooks to create products from bread and sourdough to cakes and pies in our factory. This job requires someone that is competent in their abilities, and is willing to expand their skills. Both day and night work is available with no Saturday nights. Dungog is 1 hour from Newcastle and 2 hours from Sydney. We have multiple schools, hospital and rail service and is a safe environment to raise a family. A baker at our bakery requires to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Checking and ensuring that the equipment are cleaned, safe to use and in good conditions before running the production to ensure compliance of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Checking and ensuring that the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients are as per the quality standards of the bakery
  • Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
  • Preparing pastry fillings
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
  • Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
  • Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
  • Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
  • Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
  • Ordering, taking and rotating stocks and maintain stock level for the undisrupted production operation

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications

Qualifications: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3), or Three years relevant experience.

  • Experience: Minimum two years. Longer experience is preferred
  • Language: Excellent English language ability
  • Interpersonal skill: Must be presentable, reliable and have excellent communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $72,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
