Watch Makers Apprenticeship

Overview:

Welcome to a trade very few people have access to and this is what makes this employment opportunity rare. Our industry goes back over half a millennium in making mechanical timepieces and once you’re through your apprenticeship, this is a trade that you will be able to work for a lifetime.

Labanda has been repairing as well as supplying spare parts for watches and watchmakers for over 40 years. As a part of supporting the horological industry in Australia, we again are taking in a new apprentice for our busy workshop where the successful candidate will be mentored by some of the most experienced watchmakers in the industry during their four-year indentured tenure.

Our workshop is trade based supporting retailers in the Jewellery and Watchmaking industry where no one day is the same with a wide variety of watches to be worked on each week.
 

Apprentice Prerequisites:

• Completed year 10 with passes in Maths, Science & English – technical drawing or manual arts would also be helpful but not essential.
• Be able to concentrate for long periods of time.
• Steady hand
• Good eyesight
• Eagerness to learn
• Punctual
• Respectful of others in the workplace.
• Opportunity for ages 15+
  
  The role will be based in our Brisbane workshop at Milton, with plenty of access to public transport.
