Trade Assistant Position 

Permanent Full Time (6 months or more)

Location: Perth Airport 

Part of the team responsible for maintenance of Baggage Handling Systems - focus on service, 

Salary: $ 88,716 per annum includes overtime + shift penalties

Rotating 12-hour shift - Day/ Night Roster (4 on 4 off)

About the Role

As a Global Leader in baggage handling and material handling automation, Daifuku (BCS Infrastructure Support Pty Ltd) continues to experience rapid growth. We have a great opportunity for a Trade Assistant to join our Operations and Maintenance team based at the Perth Airport.

In this role you will assist various technicians with all aspects of monitoring, repairing, maintaining and reviewing the various automation systems that are in place. You'll ensure that all the Baggage Handling equipment, systems and services are not only maintained bur are in good working order.

 Responsibilities

• As part of the Maintenance and Operations team ensure the effective and efficient operation, maintenance, repair and cleaning of all Baggage Handling System (BHS) equipment and related services.
• Ensure all faults and baggage jams are rectified safely, quickly and as efficiently as possible. 
• Ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out on schedule, to a high standard of quality workmanship, and to accurately record all work requirements.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and then sent to relevant persons/ departments.
• Adherence to all company processes, policies and procedures with regards to Health & Safety, administration and project management.
• Liaise on a day-to-day basis with airport personnel, travelers and other persons in a courteous and professional manner.
• Any other duties as directed by your Manager / Supervisor.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy sharing your knowledge. You will be comfortably following direction and as a highly organised person, delivering on your commitments.

Your skills/ experience will include:

• Post trade certificate in Hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controllers, or an appropriate engineering field.
• Experience in control system operation and maintenance
• Experience in PLC Fault finding.
• Knowledge of SCADA control systems i.e. airflow or similar is highly desirable.
•  Electrical and/or Mechanical experience.
• Good verbal and written communications.
• High level of customer service.
• Certifications of either Electrical or Mechanical would be desirable but not mandatory.

Other information

• Ability to work rotating shift.
• On the job training will be conducted.
• Able to get appropriate pass for access to Perth Airport.
• A company uniform will be supplied.
• Hold current CVR, LVR, if not then the company will assist in this training.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License.
